Accessible Web Services

Introduction

Conic Computer Solutions are dedicated to designing websites that are:

Our sites conform fully to WCAG 2.0, a set of techniques published by the WAI of the W3C.

We are also pleased to undertake the accessibility evaluation of existing websites and, where required, offer a full conversion service.

Why an accessible website?

There are several reasons why your website should be accessible:

  1. Legal reasons - The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 requires it. Under the DDA 1995, website owners have a duty to take reasonable measures to ensure that their websites are accessible to as many people as possible. Although open to interpretation at the time, the Code of Practice (2002) - which is based upon the Act - removes any doubt as to the legal requirements that need to be met by websites.
  2. There are also social, ethical and sound business reasons why your site should be accessible.
  3. For full information, you should visit the Web Access Centre of the RNIB and Out-law.
