Local Area Information
Introduction
Welcome to the east side of Loch Lomond - an area which has inspired many visitors to return again and again!
The Local Area
Conic Computer Solutions are based not far from Drymen - the ‘Gateway to East Loch Lomond’ - in the small village of Milton of Buchanan. Our name is taken from Conic Hill, which never seems to have the same colours or hues from one day to the next. In fact, they can seem to change by the hour sometimes!
The surrounding area is contained within the boundaries of the 'Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park', the first national park to be established in Scotland. It is an area of outstanding beauty and a magnet for tourists and visitors from all over the world.
Conic Hill - lambing season permitting! - and the east coast of Loch Lomond are on the route of The West Highland Way, a long distance path very popular with walkers from all over the world. The east side of the Loch offers outstanding views across the water to the hills on the west side.
Even if you aren't walking the WHW, a climb to the top of the Conic is well worthwhile. In clear conditions, spectacular views of the Loch, its islands and the nearby village of Balmaha can be enjoyed.
